Garden seed
Placeholder content for the prototype. The ideas are gestural, the point is to show the shape of an interlinked garden, not to make an argument.
There are two ways to organise thinking on the web. The stream is chronological: posts, tweets, a feed that flows past and is gone. The garden is spatial: notes that sit still, get tended, and connect to their neighbours. A stream rewards being first. A garden rewards coming back.
This site is a garden. The clearest sign is that there is no front page feed of “latest posts”. Instead there is an entrance and a web of links. You navigate by association, the way you actually think, rather than by date.
Tending versus posting
In a stream you post and move on. In a garden you revisit: a note started as three lines about thinking in public and grew, over several sittings, into something worth linking to. The revision history is the growth, not an embarrassment to hide.

Why it matters here
The polished, finished version of an idea belongs on the main site. The garden is upstream of that. It is where an idea is allowed to be wrong for a while.
